Who we are

Langata Technical and Vocational College operates this portal to receive course enquiries, feedback, complaints, compliments, suggestions and service ratings. Course applications are not collected here; they are handled by the official application portal, apply.langatatvc.ac.ke, which has its own privacy terms.

What we collect

• Details you choose to give: name, phone number, email, student or staff number, and the content of your message and any attachments.
• How you heard about the college, if you tell us, to understand which channels work.
• Technical data needed for security: IP address and browser type, kept with the submission and in security logs.
• Anonymous counts of clicks on "Apply now" links. These do not identify you and are not linked to any application.

If you submit anonymously, we do not ask for or store your name or contact details.

How we use it

• To respond to you and resolve your enquiry or complaint.
• To send you your reference number and updates by email or SMS.
• To produce anonymised statistics that help the college improve its services.

We do not sell your data or use it for unrelated marketing.

Who can see it

Only authorised staff who handle your submission. Access is limited by role and department, protected by passwords and automatic sign-out, and every access and change is recorded in an audit log.

Your rights

You may ask to see, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, or object to its use, subject to the college's legal record-keeping duties. Contact us at langatatvc2022@gmail.com.

Website visit statistics

To improve the website we count visits without cookies. For each page we record the page, the date and time, the type of device and browser, the website you came from, and your country (worked out on our own server from your internet address, which is then discarded). A daily code lets us count you once per day; it changes every day and cannot identify you. We do not store your internet address, and the statistics are only seen as totals by authorised college staff. Records are deleted after about a year.

AI assistance

Staff may use an AI assistant to help sort messages and draft replies. Before any text is processed, names, phone numbers, email addresses and ID numbers are removed. The assistant runs on a college computer wherever possible; a member of staff always checks and decides, and every reply is sent by a person.

Cookies

This site uses one essential session cookie for security (to protect forms and keep staff signed in). We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
